What's better than giving the perfect present? Purchasing gifts that give back to the planet or the people who live on it.

What if I told you that this holiday season, you can help donate socks to a child in need, build a tree to help the environment, and even help combat human trafficking. It's all possible by choosing to purchase from brands that give back.

Over the last couple years there has been an increase of social entrepreneurs who create businesses that fight social injustice or raise awareness to help problems they see in the world. We've scoured the internet to find some great brands with gifts that give back. Spread the love this holiday season with these amazing charitable brands!

Gifts that give Back

1. The Home T

Gifts that give back

The Home T (that's us!) makes state themed apparel and you'll find that our shirts are insanely soft. Our founders have friends and family impacted by multiple sclerosis which is one of the many reasons we donate 10% of profits to multiple sclerosis research.

If you're looking for a great holiday gift, you can't go wrong with our classic crew neck. We have a number of other shirts styles and products that are loved by our customers. Feel free to browse around our site.

2. WeWOOD Watch

Gifts that give back

Be punctual, fashionable, and eco-friendly all at the same time with these wooden watches. The line is a brainchild of an Italian watch lover and two social entrepreneurs who wanted to make watches to "protect and restore forest wildlife, clean water and carbon sequestration.”

These 100% natural watches are made from scrap wood and manufactured with ancient techniques. WeWOOD has partnered with American's Forests to plant one tree for every watch sold. Their goal is to plant 1 million new trees by 2020.

3. SOLO Eyewear

Gifts that give back

These shades have a bigger vision than looking cool. Did you know that 1 billion people do not have access to eye care in the world and nearly 80% of the world's blindness is preventable?

Each pair of SOLO's purchased funds eye care for people in need through prescription eyeglasses and sight saving eye surgeries. SOLO Eyewear has restored vision to 10,000 people in 32 countries which has resulted in an economic impact of $3.6 million dollars.

4. The Brave Collection

Gifts that give back

When Jessica Hendricks studied abroad in Cambodia, she witnessed a country in the wake of genocide and learned about the realities of human trafficking. She channeled her creativity, love of jewelry, and philanthropic spirit to create The Brave Collection

Each piece of jewelry in the collection is carved and woven by hand in Cambodia using traditional metalwork techniques with brass, silver and gold vermeil materials. The bracelets say “Brave” (Klaa-han) in Khmer, the native language of Cambodia.

She provides job opportunities to women who come from underprivileged backgrounds or suffer from disabilities and pays them above average wages, benefits such as health insurance, and stipends for their children's education.  Additionally, 10% of our profits are donated to fight human trafficking in Cambodia.

5. Skyline Socks

Gifts that give back

These social conscious socks are extremely comfortable and help you rep your city while giving back to your community. Each sock has a colorful cityscape that can be worn on or off the court.

Although they were founded in Seattle, they have socks for every major city (and Hawaii!) With every pair of Skyline Socks purchased, a pair is donated to a non-profit program in your city, so another kid can keep their feet feeling and looking good.

No matter if you buy one of these great products or find something else, purchasing gifts that give back is a great option this holiday season.
